Six Word Creative Project

Boiling down an autobiography into six words was a challenge. It made me consider what about my life had the most significant impact on who I am today. Each word could expand into its own six word memoir.

Unfortunately, today has been a complicated day and the gray skies did not encourage me to write a cheerful six-word present moment. Tomorrow will be a different six-words.

I finally have a concise vision statement thanks to this assignment and plan to print out the artwork and keep it posted where I can see it on a regular basis to remind me of this vision.

And lastly, but most importantly, Creating art keeps my mind healthy.

I strongly believe practicing some form of art or creative practice keeps our minds in a good place. This six-word process is highly creative as it forces us to reach back into our minds for concise words that convey meaning for us. This process could be used in a clinical setting to help a patient, caregiver or even clinicians express their feelings. It could also be used as a tool for building hope and encouragement. Within the community, the practice could be used to educate and promote healthy habits such as eating well or exercising. In either scenario, such a practice could build confidence, create a since of accomplishment and control.
