Tissue Paper Sun Catcher
Creating a tissue paper sun catcher is easy to do, adds color to a patient's room and is also very inexpensive to create. Printed paper napkins can also be used.
The materials needed include:
• Clear plastic plates
• Colored tissue paper
• Printed paper napkins
• Elmer's Glue or other glue that dries clear
• Ribbon for hanger
• Hot glue gun to glue the ribbon on back of plate
Have the patient "paint" the clear plastic plate with glue. Then have them tear small pieces of colored tissue an place them on top of the glued area. Once the tissue is glued down, then the patient should be instructed to "paint" the entire plate one more time to seal the tissue inside.
Once all of this has been done, use the hot glue gun to glue a small loop of ribbon onto the back of the plastic plate to serve as a hanger for the sun catcher.
This project is suitable for all ages, especially good for young children and the aged. If your patient is unable to do the project by themselves, the practitioner can assist or can make the sun catcher for the patient. Either way, the finished product is great to brighten any room.
